Our desire is to provide people in a conflict, mental or behavioral distress, or those experiencing abnormal circumstances, a calm and collected trained professional who listens and helps. People can receive timely, convenient, trained professionals who take time to resolve the immediate question, problem and/or conflict. We preserve peoples’ freedoms, integrity, morals and values through applying solutions that maintain their dignity, welfare, and sense of safety. We uphold individuals’ constitutional and civil rights and do not intend to take legal action.
Starting fall or winter 2020, I Pro Say is looking to provide help to specific neighborhood(s) located in downtown Denver. Our phone line will be open to receive callers who are in need of a Peer Response Communicator to arrive on sight and de-escalate.
I Pro Say’s mission is to provide intermediary and/or de-escalation services by responding on-site to callers experiencing non-violent, non-life threatening conflicts, mental, or behavioral conflict situations. Our services are an alternative to legal actions while preserving the individual’s constitutional and civil rights.
Qualities of a Peer Responder Volunteer:
Handles high pressure situations involving excitement and adrenaline with calm, collected demeanor
Listens, comprehends, processes conflicting interests among people
On the feet decision making skills
Respect for others, inclusiveness
Expected to complete shifts without posing a threat to the safety or health of others. The requirements listed above represent the abilities, skills, and knowledge required.
