Reports To: The Lead Administrator will report to the Vice-President.

Job Overview: The Lead Administrator provides administrative and clerical support to all the branch Chairs, through the timely and accurate collection and sharing of information directly related to its activities. The Lead Administrator ensures that the Chairs are well informed and that its activities are well documented for the use of Chairs, Board Members, the Advisory Council, and relevant government bodies. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • The Lead Administrator is expected to reflect Mission1Race’s values and messaging.
  • Serves on the Executive Committee.
  • The Lead Administrator is under the M1Path. However, he/she at times may assist with the other paths and journeys.
  • The Lead Administrator keeps copies of the organization’s bylaws and policy statements.
  • The Lead Administrator keeps lists of Board Members, Advisory Council members, and General Membership.
  • The Lead Administrator notifies Board Members, Advisory Council members, and team members of meetings.
  • The Lead Administrator keeps a record of attendance.
  • The Lead Administrator keeps accurate minutes of meetings.
  • The Lead Administrator records all motions and decisions of meetings.
  • The Lead Administrator will attend the Mission Executive Board, Member Advisory Council, and branch meetings.
  • The Lead Administrator will meet weekly with the Vice-President.
  • The Lead Administrator will respond to all regular communications within 48 hours.
  • The Lead Administrator will respond to all high-priority outreach within 24 hours.
  • The Lead Administrator distributes copies of minutes promptly after meetings.
  • The Lead Administrator signs official documents of the organization as required.
  • The Lead Administrator will complete other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma.
  • Proven work experience as a Lead Administrator or administrative assistant.
  • Experience with nonprofit organizations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, online meeting platforms, and social media.
  • Media web platforms. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking ability.
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.


Physical Responsibilities and Duties:

  • This position requires 8 – 12 hours a week of donated hours.
  • Frequent typing and writing are customary.
  • Bending and twisting could occur at times.
  • The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at certain times.
  • Strong public speaking ability.
