Volunteers must provide proof of therapy animal certification through a recognized program. Pets should be well-groomed, calm, and comfortable in new environments.
Description
Do you have a certified therapy pet who loves people? Compassus Hospice is seeking volunteers with therapy animals to provide comfort, companionship, and joy to patients and families. Visits from pets often reduce stress, spark smiles, and bring peace during life’s most tender moments.
Volunteers may:
- Visit patients in homes or care facilities with their certified therapy pet
- Encourage interaction through gentle petting, brushing, or sitting together
- Provide companionship that lifts spirits and eases loneliness
Your therapy pet’s presence can create meaningful connections that words sometimes cannot.
