Teach Water Safety, Addiction Awareness to Youth on the North Coast of Honduras!

Lobster divers and fisherman in Honduras experience the threat of drowning on a daily basis. Entire barrios struggle with addiction to drugs, alcohol, machismo, and mistreatment of our planet.

The Alabama Honduras Medical Educational Network’s Río de Agua Viva team seeks volunteers to teach lifeguarding to youth in Jutiapa and Roatan, Honduras. We will also train community leaders in recognizing and talking to neighbors with addiction issues.

If you are not already trained, you have plenty of time to learn and develop your own lesson!

Our team will also interview Honduran families about their experiences during the coronavirus pandemic and the two devastating hurricanes last year.

Dates: July 6-12

Cost: $1,500 + airfare
