The Treasurer is a key member of the HOPEmatch Board of Directors, responsible for overseeing the financial health and integrity of the organization. This position works closely with the Executive Director to ensure accurate financial reporting, strategic budgeting, and sound fiscal management aligned with HOPEmatch’s mission. The Treasurer provides leadership in financial planning and accountability, helping the board make informed decisions that sustain and grow the organization’s impact.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight
Review and present monthly and annual financial statements to the board
Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting and IRS regulations
Monitor sources/uses of cash flow and cash levels
Budgeting & Planning
Collaborate with staff and board to develop the annual budget
Track performance and attribution of budget against actual results
Align financial resources with strategic goals
Internal Controls & Risk Management
Establish and review financial policies (e.g., investment policy, general cash/liquidity management)
Ensure proper accounting and control framework required for a non-profit entity
Support all financial risk management and financial governance activities
Board Collaboration
Educate board members on financial matters
Provide clear, concise financial updates at board meetings
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure timely filing of tax documents and financial reports
Assist with grant and donor reporting requirements
