    Description

    When a large-scale disaster impacts a community, multiple agencies and resources come together to provide response and recovery support. As a Community Engagement & Partnerships (CEP) Service Associate you’ll connect with local partners to build capacity, coordinate activities, and ensure that all disaster-affected communities have access to Red Cross services. Your role involves implementing the CEP plan, engaging with organizations, and supporting multi-agency collaborative efforts to promote regional engagement and inclusive partnerships.

    If you have the passion to build relationships with community partners, or are already well-connected in your community, this is the perfect role for you! We need help on all islands, and especially in rural/underserved areas.

    • Engages organizations and groups with their CEP Team according to the service delivery plan.
    • Serves as a liaison to other units within the Disaster Relief Operation.
    • Attends NGO and private sector meetings and training sessions in conjunction with the affected area.
    • Promotes regional engagement in community convening and coordination efforts.
    • Supports regional development of holistic effective, diverse and inclusive partnerships.
    • Provides support to multi-agency collaborative efforts and partner activities.
    • Implements Community Engagement (mobilization) and Partnerships Standards and Procedures and job tools.
    • Models appropriate behavior and treats all workers with respect and dignity at all times.
    • Briefs Community Engagement and Partnerships Supervisors on status of community engagement and partnerships activities.

    Qualifications:

    • Willingness to comply with Red Cross COVID-19 policies for in-person volunteer activities. (you may need to wear a mask in certain situations)
    • Results-oriented, client and integrity focused
    • Ability to display tact, political acumen, and diplomacy in difficult or sensitive situations
    • Ability to negotiate compromise and tolerate ambiguity, particularly to meet sudden and unpredictable needs
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Ability to implement Community Engagement (Mobilization) and Partnerships Standards and Procedures and job tools (under development)
    • Proficient in Word, Excel
    • Customer Focus: Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
    • Action Oriented: Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
    • Values Differences: Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.
    • Ability to stand and sit for 2-hour periods
    • Ability to speak clearly on the phone and in person
    • Ability to drive in daytime and at night
    • Ability to work long hours under stressful conditions
    • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
