Join us for a neighborhood-wide cleanup as part of Motor City Makeover! NCNA is mobilizing 100 volunteers across 8 sites to help care for shared spaces including a community farm, neighborhood parks, and the sidewalks and curbs in front of seniors’ homes. This is a hands-on opportunity to directly support Detroit neighborhoods and connect with others who care about community.

- Pick up litter and debris across designated cleanup sites
- Assist with light landscaping such as weeding, trimming, and basic beautification
- Support cleanup efforts at community spaces like parks and our community farm
- Help clean curbs and sidewalks, especially in front of seniors’ homes
- Follow safety guidance and work collaboratively with team leads and fellow volunteers
Qualifications:
- No prior experience required—just a willingness to help
- Ability to participate in light to moderate physical activity (bending, walking, lifting small items)
- Positive attitude and respect for community spaces and fellow volunteers
- Youth are welcome with supervision
What to Expect:
- Tools to be provided but volunteers may bring garden gloves, garden tools, weed trimmers, etc

This is more than a cleanup—it’s a chance to be part of caring for and investing in Detroit’s neighborhoods alongside residents and community partners.
