Job Summary: A Human Resources (HR) director intern assists the HR department with a variety of tasks, including administrative duties like updating employee records and filing documents, and more specialized projects related to recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and data analysis. The role involves supporting the hiring process, managing HR information systems (HRIS), and contributing to special projects under the guidance of senior staff.
Key responsibilities
- Recruitment and onboarding: Post job ads, screen resumes, schedule interviews, and assist with new hire orientation and onboarding processes.
- Administrative support: Maintain and update employee records and databases, handle new hire paperwork, and organize HR documents.
- Data and reporting: Compile and input data for payroll and other purposes, create reports, and assist with data-focused projects.
- Employee relations and engagement: Help with employee engagement initiatives, conduct exit interviews, and assist with training programs.
- HR systems: Gain hands-on experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems (ATS) by inputting data and managing employee information.
- Special projects: Assist with various projects in areas like benefits administration, compensation, and talent acquisition.
Required skills and qualifications
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with HR concepts and relevant labor laws is a plus
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
