Volunteers assist staff with the day-to-day running of the centre. Main activities include feeding and caring for the animals, ensuring their enclosures are cleaned on a daily basis and helping the team with general maintenance around the grounds and enrichment programs for the animals. Where ever possible, volunteers are also given the opportunity to assist staff on wildlife rescues and releases.
As a wildlife rehabilitation centre, CROW’s aim is always to release our animals back into the wild once they have made a full recovery. Therefore it is imperative that the conditions at our centre mimic their natural environment as closely as possible and contact with humans is kept to that which is strictly necessary for treating that animal. This means staff and volunteers are not permitted to stroke and "play" with the animals, our intention is for them to remain wild.
Those volunteers who are interested in assisting with marketing, fundraising and PR-related activities are also more than welcome!
Due to COVID 19 and strict international travel, we have lost out on the much-needed income from our volunteer program that helps keep our doors open. If you choose to volunteer at CROW you will be helping us get back on our feet after the impacts COVID 19 has had on our organization.
