Volunteer Coordinator

The YACU is seeking a highly motivated high school or college student interested in the intersection of politics, leadership and organizing. The volunteer coordinator will help further our organizational mission through documenting volunteer positions and facilitating the activities of volunteers. Being a volunteer coordinator is a great opportunity to help students build skills in leadership, personnel management and database usage.


As an entirely volunteer and youth operated organization, volunteers are at the heart of what we do we couldn't work towards our mission without them. We're looking for someone who can not only handle the paperwork associated with coordinating our volunteers, but also keep them motivated and energized!

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a database of volunteer positions
  • Tracking and analyzing important metrics such as volunteer hours
  • Implementing volunteer incentivization programs
  • Collaborating with our Political Team on coordinating volunteer positions with our partner organizations
  • Facilitating the activities of volunteers and ensuring their satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Leadership and team coordination abilities
  • Highly organized disposition
  • Experience volunteering for nonprofit organizations
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and ability to analyze data
