Member Duties:

The AmeriCorps member will engage Northeast Kingdom partners to establish Vermont’s newest gleaning program as the Gleaning Coordinator. This role will outline and facilitate the program by creating an asset map of key stakeholders, establishing the program’s mission, vision, objectives, goals, community partners and service areas. The member will implement procedures related to stakeholder records and engagement, food safety, and the collection and distribution of gleanings. They will be crucial in helping secure resources to support the program, such as funding. The AmeriCorps member will recruit and coordinate volunteers for the program’s gleaning activities. They will build gleaning services with farms and coordinate delivery of surplus to community food programs. The Gleaning Coordinator will continually develop program marketing and education materials, annual program work plan, and represent the Northeast Gleaning program within the Vermont Gleaning Collective.
