SAILS Program Coordinator

Stillborn and Infant Loss Support (SAILS) is dedicated to helping those who have lost their child by letting them know that they are not alone. We are seeking a Program Coordinator Volunteer that will gain experience by participating in the development and roll-out of a new program focused on providing burial support. Once the program is up-and-running, the volunteer will move to the day-to-day operations. This will require/utilize communication, project management, and social work skills. The volunteer will work remotely. All work will be done online via email and work directly with the CEO to understand SAILS mission and the task associated with the program and the role of the Program Coordinator.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain database to track program applications and outcomes;
  • Communicate with families, referral entities, funeral homes, and management;
  • Create program communication (brochure, application, emails, etc.) by working with management and referral entities;
  • Work with management to develop and document program guidelines;
  • Review and process applications for submission to management for a final decision; and
  • Follow-up with families, referral entities, funeral homes, and management to improve and revise program as needed.

Expected Environmental Conditions:

  • Work will occur online and/or via the telephone from the volunteer’s location.

Qualifications/Requirement s for Volunteer Applicants:

  • Strong communication skills;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word;
  • Desire to learn Excel; and
  • Able to work well independently and use good judgment.

Start Date:

  • As soon as possible

Time Commitment:

  • 10 to 15 hours per month

Scheduling Guidelines:

  • The hours are flexible, but the volunteer will need to be available to communicate with various parties during their business hours.

Tools/Equipment Provided (including Personal Protective Equipment):

  • No tools to be provided as it is assumed the volunteer will utilize their own PC/Laptop.
