    Lawyers in Quebec (Remote/Unpaid Volunteer):

    Join Empowered Futures as a Lawyer and become a key part of our futuristic and innovative organization dedicated to empowering emerging adults as they transition into adulthood.

    We are currently in need of Lawyers and/or Legal Assistants residing in Quebec.

    At Empowered Futures, we are dedicated to creating confident, emotionally intelligent, and resourceful adults through self-empowerment, business mentorship, and unwavering support, to help them build their capability and reap their full potential.

    This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to utilize your skills and contribute to making a significant impact on individuals' lives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist the legal team with legal research, writing and review legal documents
    • Work cross-functionally with the finance team to support funding initiatives for Empowered Futures' mentorship program
    • Collaborate with other members of the legal team to develop effective legal strategies and solutions
    • Provide support on various legal matters
    • Attend weekly team meetings every Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 5:00 pm MDT

    Qualifications:

    • Practicing Lawyer is a plus
    • Residing in Quebec
    • Bachelor’s degree in Law or currently enrolled in law school
    • Strong legal research and writing skills.
    • Working Knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Privacy Law
    • Charity Law or Non-profit Law
    • Corporate and Commercial Law
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong commitment to social justice and helping underserved communities.
