Call for Mentors

I Am, We Are (IAWA) is seeking dedicated mid-career professionals with a passion for youth development to volunteer as career mentors. Mentors are a key component of the support network IAWA strives to create for our "Ambassadors" (high school students/secondary school learners) that includes nurturing adults, peer mentors, advocates, role models, and a cohort of positive peers.

COMMITMENT:

Mentors are asked to commit to the following:

-Support an ambassador's career exploration and development from July 2022-July 2023

-Once a month hour-long calls with an ambassador providing career guidance through activities and reflections from IAWA's Career Dreamscaping Guide

-1 3-hour long training, 1 hour long mid program check-in, and 1-hour long closing reflection with IAWA team

Serve as a positive, encouraging, and consistent role model

The mentor program and career dreamscaping experience will culminate in Ambassador career presentations during the Morafe Leadership Programme Career Conference in July 2023.

HOW TO APPLY

We will be accepting mentor applicants until 20 June 2022. Selected mentors will be invited to an orientation that will take place on July 7th and 16th 2022 (You only need to attend one session).
