Do you have a passion for serving the community and advocating for the healing power of animals? If so, you may be the perfect candidate to support Healing Hoofbeats by joining our Board in a leadership role. President of the Board will have an extraordinary opportunity to join a mission-driven organization experiencing rapid growth who seeks to help individuals feel more empowered and secure in their lives through building healthy and mutually beneficial relationships with animals. Healing Hoofbeats of CT Inc. serves all populations of individuals looking for equine and animal assisted psychotherapy.

Requirements and Duties

  • Carry previous experience as a Board Member for a non-profit organization
  • Possess exceptional leadership skills and a strong voice 
  • Assist Healing Hoofbeats in credibly soliciting contributions from foundations, organizations, and individuals.
  • Be excited for the opportunity to join a Board and organization using non-traditional approaches to achieve ambitious goals. 
  • Be radically open minded, have a growth mindset, open to considering diverse viewpoints and, many a time, unusual strategies.
  • Have the desire to interact with other Board Members and also have an interest and passion for animal and equine assisted psychotherapy.
  • Assist in setting policy and organizational goals.
  • Ensure that fiscal policies are in place and followed.
  • Help develop and adopt budgets.
  • Help recruit new board members.

Board Member Location

  • Board Members are not required to be located in the North Franklin or Bethlehem, CT region.
  • Meetings can be attended in person or via video conference call. There are quarterly in-person meetings at the Bethlehem, CT main headquarters.

Board Term

  • Board Members will serve a one (1) year term and be eligible for re-appointment. 

Compensation 

  • This position is with a non-profit organization, which is volunteer in nature and non-compensated.
