Against Deadly Paths is a non profit organization that supports and guides vulnerable and underprivileged persons and communities in areas of poverty alleviation, education, healthcare and social services. As an organization, we strive to address individual and community vulnerability using a holistic approach aimed at improving the quality of life of vulnerable and underprivileged persons and communities by developing various innovative socio-economic empowerment programs.




Our unique organization led by a team of diverse and passionate people is seeking passion-driven individuals to join our board.




Position Title: Volunteer Board Member




Qualifications


.Understand and promote the organization's mission.


.A strong commitment to the mission of Against Deadly Paths as an organization.


.Able to strengthen the organization because of the expertise they bring from their business or professional background.


.Sensitive to the people/ communities the organization serves.


.Available and engaged - willing to attend meetings and represent Against Deadly Paths interests as an organization, willing to participate in programs, fund raising efforts and special events. 


. Ability to lead and work with diverse people as a team towards achieving the organization's  goals.


.Has vision but is flexible to possibilities of change.


 


Role of the Board


Governance : The board determines policies that gives overall direction to the organization.


Management: The board is responsible for making decisions to ensure there are sufficient and appropriate human and financial resources for the organization to accomplish its mission.


Operations: The board determines how the organization will carry out its mission through long and short-range planning.
