The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) is an international volunteers-led think tank supporting and advocating the application of blockchain technology in the global fight against climate change.

The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) is an international think-tank supporting and advocating the application of blockchain technology in the global fight against climate change. 

We are looking for a passionate professional who takes a strategic approach to their work, builds professional relationships with stakeholders, and generates opportunities for the organisation development. The Executive Officer (Learning & Training) (EO(L)) will support the Senior Executive Officer, the Assistant Director-General (Wellbeing) and the Director-General. More experienced candidates may be appointed as Principal or Senior Executive Officer.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To provide regular administrative support for the learning and training team
  • To assist in the coordination of BCI learning and training sessions 
  • To support with general resource management duties;
  • To support in the identification of learning and training needs within the institute;
  • To assist with the curating and/or creating of learning and training opportunities for the volunteers;
  • To administer evaluations of the effectiveness and efficacy of current and future learning and training sessions, courses and resources.

Skills and abilities

  • Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to develop effective working relationships, work flexibly across professional and operational boundaries, and communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders at all levels;
  • Excellent English writing;
  • Close attention to details; and,
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to balance competing demands under pressure.

Relevant experience 

  • Minimum three years of professional experience, with proven ability in organisations/businesses;
  • Experience of working in a target driven role;
  • Proven ability to co-ordinate and develop strategies in environment-related organisation(s);
  • Experience of building constructive relationships with stakeholders; and,
  • Experience of working independently and with teams to drive forward projects using own initiative
  • Strong interest in topics central to the BCI, such as climate change, climate finance and blockchain technology.

Blockchain and other emerging technologies. Climate change and sustainability. These are two hot topic groups that have been headlining media outlets, dominating conferences & events, and gaining increasing traction in research and pilot projects. BCI is here as an expert platform to help governments, inter-governmental and regional organisations as well as relevant corporates to negotiate the complex landscape of emerging technologies for environmental good. We cement our expertise by putting in the hard work in researching, identifying and analysing the applications of emerging technologies so that informed decisions can be made by the stakeholders in the climate change and action network.
