Pilot – Helicopter (US only)

Participating in the JAARS Missions At The Airport (MATA) program, you will be a vital part of a missions awareness team, flying to public events and demonstrating how helicopters are used on the mission field.

Brief Description

Work with a team of pilots and ground staff to conduct public missions aviation awareness events, giving rides and performing helicopter demonstrations.

·        For a volunteer or a non-paid, career staff who raises support

·        Must be a US citizen or green card holder

Responsibilities

• Participate in Missions At The Airport planning
• Conduct routine helicopter flights to and from Missions At The Airport events
• Operate aircraft in accordance with JAARS standards and policies
•  Depending on qualifications, may conduct aircraft maintenance
• Engage with the public representing JAARS through one on one contacts as well as public speaking events
• Demonstrate a deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth
• Embrace the vision, mission and core values of JAARS

Skills

·        Good communication and social skills

·        Good airmanship

·        Good judgement, discipline, adaptability, aptitude for learning and is safety conscious

Education and Experience

·        Commercial Pilot certificate

·        Class II Medical certificate or equivalent

·        Successful completion of a JAARS technical evaluation and orientation

·        500 hours minimum flight time

·        A&P license desirable but not mandatory

Our campus includes extensive training facilities, an airport, office and commercial facilities, guest housing, food services, recreational areas, health clinic, on-site childcare and youth and family ministry support for staff and partners.

We have more than five hundred people serving on our campus. We partner with SIL International, Wycliffe Global Alliance and other organizations locally and globally.
