The mission of Church World Services is to, Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, comfort the aged, and shelter the homeless. Part of this mission includes The Integration Assistance Program, which assists eligible refugees and entrants to effectively resettle and become economically self-sufficient in as short a time as possible. Through the Integration Assistance program, services include information and referral services, community education, outreach services, and short-term case management services. Volunteers with Church World Service will participate in our Refugee Mentor Program to promote civic and social engagement and support individual and vocational advancement. Volunteers are needed to develop a relationship with refugees to provide support, guidance, friendship, opportunities to learn life and career skills, and assist them in becoming self-sufficient and integrated members of US society. Submit your volunteered hours to this general opportunity.
As a volunteer, you must pass a background screening. Volunteers working with our youth must pass a level 2 background screening.
Due to COVID-19, you must have a scheduled appointment to enter an office. At this time, Mentors and Mentees are encouraged to use remote technology to host a virtual meeting.
