    Volunteer Researcher

    Welcome to Advocacy Research Group!

Our mission is to provide a secure, safe, and collaborative technology infrastructure for journalists, technologists, and other researchers to perform investigative research into human rights violations and abuses. Advocacy Research Group will then provide a publishing platform for the research in the form of articles or white papers.

We are looking for volunteer researchers who will fulfill our mission of researching violations and abuses of human rights with a potential focus on BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, migrant, disability and other communities impacted by DEI rollbacks. Interested parties will do some preliminary research before deciding on a topic to propose for a 1-3 month project time frame.

    Qualifications:

    • Desire to learn
    • Strong reading skills
    • Strong writing skills
    • Strong sense of curiosity
    • Strong communication skills
    • Ability to meet deadlines
    • Somewhat tech savvy (we can teach you more)

    Responsibilities:

    • Research and investigate using datasets, primary sources, and secondary sources.
    • Meet established deadlines
    • Communicate/Collaborate regularly
    • Write and publish an article on the proposed project

This is a volunteer position requiring 1-2 hours a week on the volunteer’s schedule. ARG provides the secure infrastructure to conduct this research, publication platform for final product, and guidance to researching and writing. There are opportunities for multiple projects or extensions based on the project itself.

If you have further questions or need assistance in any way you can email info@advocacyresearchgroup.org or go to advocacyresearchgroup.org
