Again and again, our volunteer work to help animals has led us to human problems. From hoarding cases to low-income guardians seeking aid for their pets, when animals are at risk, often humans are in need too. Working in collaboration with other rescue organizations the founder of this nonprofit aided in rescuing hundreds of animals from extreme hoarding situations; and in other cases, provided medical help and food for people with pets. Help is needed, so we can do more. We’d like to develop protocols that we can use and share among rescues that work together in these cases; and to promote community awareness and positive, compassionate action to help people and animals before the tragedies compound. Depending on your experience and interest, we can offer a board member or an advisory position and work with your hours on weekdays or weekends. The board position will require approximately 18 - 24 hours total, spread over a one year period. An advisory position may require less time. Background needed in a related area such as sociology, psychology, research, social services, community outreach, or work with elderly, mentally ill, or disabled. This is a volunteer position.
