    Description

Imagine being a teen with big dreams of designing buildings, engineering innovations, or creating the next great invention-only to have no access to the tools that could make it possible. Do you want to help shape the future of young innovators by helping give them the tools and skills they need to succeed?

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit seeking a Volunteer AutoCAD Instructor to teach an Introduction to AutoCAD course for homeschooled and online high school students. This course is designed to promote college and career readiness by providing students with foundational skills in computer-aided design (CAD) and exposing them to careers in engineering, architecture, and design.

The instructor will guide students through basic AutoCAD tools, functions, and applications, helping them develop technical proficiency while reinforcing mathematical concepts relevant to CAD design. Students and the instructor will have access to an AutoCAD license.

    Instructor Responsibilities:

    • Lead weekly live online lessons (45 minutes to 1 hour) on a set day/time of your choice, Monday through Friday between 10AM and 6pm starting early August until mid December 2025.
    • Teach basic AutoCAD skills.
    • Develop a final project assignment for students to complete.
    • Assign homework and classwork as needed to reinforce learning.
    • Provide support and feedback to students throughout the course.
    Why Volunteer?
    • Make an impact by introducing students to industry-relevant skills.
    • Enhance your resume with valuable teaching and mentoring experience.
    • Inspire the next generation of future engineers, architects, and designers.
    • Receive a letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the course (4 months).
    • Join a community of educators dedicated to inclusive and accessible learning.
    Qualifications:
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD
    • Comfortable leading live online classes and engaging with high school students.
    • Passion for mentorship, education, and career development.

If you’re interested in sharing your skills and shaping future innovators, we’d love to have you on board! Apply today to become a Volunteer AutoCAD Instructor!
