Volunteer for the Digital Learning Lab

We are seeking committed volunteers to assist vulnerable students in completing their virtual learning in a safe, supportive space in order to bridge the pandemic learning gap.

Washington Community Fellowship has an opportunity to meet the needs of vulnerable students in DC by providing a safe in-person space for students to do virtual learning at the WCF facility. The program will host 5-10 upper elementary or middle-school students in the fellowship hall area while they conduct their virtual learning online from 12:30-3:30 pm, Monday through Friday for the rest of the 2020-21 school year. We are hoping to launch the program on March 1st.

Each day, a program coordinator and one to two volunteers will be needed to provide the planned support for this program in-person at the WCF facility.

Volunteers will receive training and support and go through a background check process.

The Digital Learning Lab will pay close attention to COVID-19 safety. Volunteers will be asked to:

  • Wear a mask at all times
  • Answer health screening questions
  • Maintain a safe physical distance from others (6ft+)
  • Follow handwashing and disinfecting protocols

For more information on COVID-19 safety, the guidelines from the CDC can be found here.
