Red Cross Disaster Response Team Members Needed Throughout the Valley

Every day, the American Red Cross assists people who face disasters, big and small. Natural disasters can strike at any moment, and we are working to prepare our communities in case that happens. Disaster response team members support local shelters to provide care and comfort to communities impacted by a natural disaster.

Why is the role important?

Our wildfire shelter response teams are there to provide care and comfort to our communities while displaced during disasters. As wildfire season approaches, we have altered our response methods to abide by the guidelines established by our local public health departments and the CDC to best protect the safety of our clients, volunteers and staff during COVID-19.

Disaster volunteers help local families cope with emergencies.

Home fires and other disasters can occur any time, any place. As a Disaster Team volunteer, you’ll provide emotional support, financial assistance, and information to help families begin the process of recovery. With experience and further training you can take on leadership and response coordination roles to have a wider impact. At the same time, you’ll be developing skills that you may choose to apply to larger-scale disaster response efforts with the Red Cross.

Ready to Make a Difference? Here's How to Get Started!

  1. Go to redcross.org/volunteer to complete our online application. It takes less than 10 minutes!
  2. A member of our team will get in touch. Taking the time for a personal conversation enables us to match you with a role that will be both meaningful and enjoyable.
  3. We’ll provide all necessary training to ensure you can be successful in your volunteer role.
