Volunteer Coordinator

This is an unpaid, remote-based volunteer position. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for keeping volunteers effectively engaged to help UR Community Cares (UCC) expand the philanthropic impact of supporting more neighbors with home-based assistance at no charge.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain updated records on all Volunteers in Salesforce
  • Facilitate a monthly meeting for new Volunteers
  • Onboard new Volunteers with direction and training
  • Guide local Volunteer Coordinators (aka. Hometown Heroes) and their teams of local Volunteers
  • Update Volunteers with news, policy changes, etc. in monthly newsletters
  • Implement a volunteer recognition program
  • Elicit feedback from Volunteers about their experiences
  • Recruit more Volunteers through building partnerships with schools, non-profits, local governments, etc.
  • Regularly report to the Executive Director
  • Support Volunteers in miscellaneous ways

Qualifications:

  • 5 hours/week minimal availability
  • Prior volunteer coordination experience
  • Salesforce experience, or interest to learn
  • Google Suite proficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Works independently and collaboratively
  • Uses Eastern Standard Time (preferred)
  • Able to communicate with volunteers through both email and telephone (preferred)
