public policy associate

Posted by

The NAMI Greater Boston Peer Support and Advocacy Network (PSAN) https://namiboston.org/people-living-mental-illness/

is a peer-run organization helping people advance in their recovery from mental health and/or addictions.

The public policy associate will help PSAN advocate for policies and laws which improve the quality of life for people with mental health and/or addictions.

The public policy associate will analyze legislation at the state and national level and report back with recommendations for action.

The associate will help to organize existing advocates and recruit new advocates and teach them how to do individual and systemic advocacy. We will participate in various lobby days at the State House, testifying on legislation that affects us, and preparing people to meet with legislators and in emailing, calling or writing their public officials. We also will be partnering with allied organizations.

You will be working closely co-founder Howard D. Trachtman, BS, CPS, CPRP, COAPS, a nationally recognized mental health advocate as well as our public policy coordinator and other staff.

During the current situation all work can be done remotely.

To apply or if you have any questions, please contact Howard D. Trachtman, BS, CPS, CPRP, COAPS co-founder and president emeritus. Email hdt@namiboston.org or call his home/office (781) 642-0368 or snail mail: NAMI GB PSASN 776 Main Street #541481 Waltham MA 02454
