Short-term researcher(s)needed: Use of TV as HR violations and forced TV confessions

Help is needed with some short-term research, in your native language tongue.

Forced TV Confessions, as exposed in China by Safeguard Defenders (see link to report below), are extracted using coercing, drugging, torture, attacks on loved ones or other means, and broadcast before anyone's trial, often even before arrest. Recently, some countries have started broadcasting such 'confessions' around the EU, North America, Australia and beyond - often in direct violations of countries 'broadcasting codes' or regulations.

Research is needed into several different countries broadcasting regulations, to identify those regulations, their monitoring bodies, and ways of addressing such violations, for example the ability to file complaints against TV channels that broadcasts them. Such research has already been completed in the UK, U.S. and Sweden, but much more is needed.

After successfully having the UK's TV regulator launch formal investigations into some of these broadcasts, the use of these coerced confessions by China has decreased significantly - directly protecting lawyers, journalists and rights defenders yet another severe rights violation. These actions, for which your research help is needed, have a direct and very real impact and can help save and protect rights defenders.

No set limit to countries to be researched exist, but Western Europe (especially Belgium), Eastern Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zeeland, and other developed countries that are more likely to have robust regulatory framework is a priority.
