Volunteer Website Attendant

The Community Literature Initiative is focused on teaching writers how to write, edit, and finalize manuscripts for publication. Seasoned and new writers can furnish their skills through our process of cultivating creativity, passion, and drive. Community Literature Initiative is in need of a volunteer to help maintain our website. Come aboard to help develop and update our website's functionality and events.


Job purpose:


To oversee the functionality of the website, evaluate and manage website performance, facilitate hosting and server management, and develop, maintain and update website content.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage, monitor, and upgrade Community Literature Initiative’s Website.
  • Improve the User Experience of the website regularly.
  • Collaborate with all staff and management to ensure that the website aligns with brand strategy and meets the organization’s standards.
  • Ensure full compliance on the website with all laws and regulations.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot all website issues.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1-2 years of work experience as a website manager.
  • Expert knowledge of Macromedia suite, Adobe suite, Content Management Systems and W3C Web standards.
  • Highly proficient in Wordpress 5.4.2 and older versions, Site Optimization (Increasing Bandwith, obtaining and management of an SSL certificate (HTTPS), and Caching (W3 Total Cache, WP Rocket, etc.).
  • Experience in HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Access, mySQL and JavaScript.
  • Great understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Paid Per Click (PPC).
  • Excellent content creation and writing skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot website issues.
