CHILDREN &YOUNG PEOPLE ACTIVITY VOLUNTEER - AKOMAASA PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY.

AkomaAsa Arts is a community arts education organisation that offers Western and African diaspora dance forms, music and performing arts training for children and young people (CYP) aged 6- 16+. We engage in the ongoing work of teaching and learning about African, Caribbean and Western social, cultural and historical connections through collaborative working relationships.

We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated volunteers to support us in the preparations and running of our summer production/fair.  The Day will offer a variety of activities for children, young people and adults.  The Summer Arts Festival will be held on the 16th July 2022 in the South West London area.  Successful individuals must be 18+ and  have a DBS

Your duties include:

• Available to take on various roles on the day on the 16th July 2022
• Help set up and clear away activities at the event
• Support various activities and groups tasks.
• Engaging with the children and adults.
• Encouraging people to engage in various activities
• Be on the alert to provide assistance where required.

Essential Skills:

 Experience with children, young people and adults are essential. Good work ethics, a willingness to roll up your sleeves and help get the work done, respectful attitude and friendly personality.

• Ability to work well and efficiently within a team.
• Customer service-oriented.
• Ability to communicate with children and young people effectively.
