BeAnArtHero is an intersectional grassroots campaign comprised of Arts & Culture workers, Unions, and institutions in the United States pushing the Senate to allocate proportionate relief to the Arts & Culture sector of the American economy. Right now it's 100% run by volunteers.
The team has been very hard at work writing and meeting with congressional staff. They have created the DAWN ACT (DEFEND ART WORKERS NOW) and are bringing it to DC for support. This bill authorizes the NEA, NEH, IMLS, CPB, SBA $43.85 billion to make grants to all art workers and related businesses to address the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on all Arts Workers across the national Arts Economy.
But we still have so much work to do and need your help to do it! From there we hope to put you on a project that will align with your skills and passions.
RIGHT NOW WE ARE IN NEED OF SOCIAL MEDIA TALENT! We are looking for help in the following ways:
Community Manager for about 4-6 hours per week
The Arts & Culture sector is a community and Be An #ArtsHero is part of that! Community managers help to manage the online voice of Be An #ArtsHero to build campaign awareness in the online community. Tasks include:
Social Media Coordinator 6-8 hours per week
Administrative Assistant, Creative Services Team
Supporting the Director of Creative Services (Graphics, Social Media, Video Production, and Press). Someone to assist in creating meeting agendas and take meeting notes, assist in scheduling and correspondence, and in project management. Familiarity with G Suite (gmail, google docs, and google drive), Slack, and Asana preferred (but not required). Because this position requires a lot of interaction with Creative Service volunteers, experience in social media, graphic design, video production, or press is especially helpful. Extra special bonus points if candidate has proficiency in Canva and/or the Adobe suite.
