Kitizen Science - Outdoor Cat Survey

We already know you're snapping pictures of every cat and dog you see–why not use those skills for science? This summer, we're conducting an outdoor cat survey with Kitizen Science. A census of the outdoor cat population, if you will.

We're looking for volunteers to snap photos of every outdoor cat they come across on an assigned route. This count will help us better understand just how many cats there are out there, and allow us to measure the success of TNR programs! There are estimates of how large the outdoor cat population is, but there have been few formal studies. With your support, we're hoping to change that!

The survey takes place between June 12th and June 25th from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm each night. Volunteers will be assigned a route in a west side neighborhood and receive training from Kitizen Science. Must be 18+ to participate, and comfortable with technology and walking for the duration of your shift.
