PPIC is a start-up 501c(3) committed to advancing the role and ability of organizations to help create a world that works for all!

The Development Director for PPIC will create and lead all of our fund-raising activities including the core work or researching for prospective donors for our non-traditional, not-for-profit organization.

The Development Director organizes large-scale fundraising initiatives, identifies and writes grants, builds relationships with donors together with the Board and Core Team, identifies and cultivates relationships with prospective major gift donors, grows small donors, and creates and manages donor database.

Essential Functions Performed

  • Researches major gift donor prospects
  • Researches and writes grants
  • Plans major giving programs
  • Works with the Core Team to grow relationships with major gift donors
  • Develops donor solicitation strategy for major gift prospects
  • Tracks and assesses major gift fundraising metrics
  • Creates major gift proposal documents
  • Utilizes major giving fundraising and marketing tools, including on-line tools
  • Works collaboratively with board members and staff on fundraising

Ideal Candidate Qualities

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Business or related field; the equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience

  • At least 3 years experience in comprehensive fundraising methods
  • At least 3 years experience in identifying sources of funding for nonprofit organizations
  • At least 3 years experience in grant writing

Skills Required

  • Facility in using donor management systems
  • Skilled communicator, with superior interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
  • Time management skills
  • Grant writing skills
  • Flexibility
  • Service mentality
