The covid 19 has coused strong fear among the community.IN UGANDA most families face Gender-based violence.

(GBV) is still a problem everywhere, every day, including Uganda, and remains one of the most pervasive human rights violations in the world. It is estimated that one in three women on average globally experience some form of violence over their lifetimes, usually at the hands of a spouse or domestic partner. Now, the COVID-19 pandemic is exacerbating the problem, as women are confined indoors under lock-downs and quarantines for extended periods of time, often with the men who are perpetuating the violence against them. As such, it is important to ensure the COVID-19 task force (government and religious), community leaders, district leaders and women led groups in all sectors are equipped to provide accurate, up-to-date information on available GBV services especially during this lock-down.

Therefore this project hopes to intervene into this problem by using essential staff such as the internatinal volunteers, community leaders like the LCs, vendor market leaders and representatives from the health centres and pharmacies as entry points for proactively disseminating information on available GBV services because in situations where there are extreme and sudden movement restrictions or quarantines, there may be only a very few points where a survivor is able to have any interaction with anyone other than their abuser. These entry points have been selected because they are within easy reach within the communities.
