Soccer Team Mentor

The Global FC Team Mentor position is a model that encourages and supports youth in a soccer team oriented structure. The Team Mentor(s) will be assigned to a specific Global FC team and will be responsible for meeting and connecting with the youth at practice once or twice a week. No soccer skills are necessary, but rather a willingness to cheer them on and support them in their love of the sport. 

The Team Mentor must be a voice of support and a positive role model for the overall team. However, the role will also require the volunteer to become aware of the individual needs and issues of the youth. He or she may be asked to work on certain aspects of a specific young person’s development, while understanding the unique challenges refugee youth face in their new home country.
