The Illinois Prison Project (IPP) is a young nonprofit organization in Chicago that seeks to reduce mass incarceration by providing legal services to individuals incarcerated in the Illinois Department of Corrections. We focus on novel and creative approaches to prison reduction including mass commutation campaigns, sentence restructuring, public education, and advocacy.
The Illinois Prison Project seeks a dynamic and energetic intern/volunteer to help manage and grow our social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting criminal justice reform, fluent in social and traditional media, and excited to talk about criminal justice reform. Start and end dates are flexible, however the sooner the better. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this can be a remote opportunity. We expect this position will be about 10 hours/week and do not need to be during normal business hours.
