    Vice Chair

    The Liberated Arts Movement is a collective of artists, educators and organizers dedicated to serving historically marginalized groups through creative, mindful and civically engaged programming. We are looking for qualified, passionate and resourceful board members to serve our mission, guard our vision and help us take our impact to the next level.

    Role Description

    Community is important to us; both internally and externally. We are looking for co-creators that are growing or established experts in the respective fields that will govern and protect the vision and mission of the Liberated Arts Movement as board members. This role is a 1 year volunteer position with potential for a two year renewal and will serve alongside other founding board members and the Executive Director, Tara Levy.

    Responsibilities

    As a Vice Chair, you will be responsible for assisting the Board Chair with the management of the several program’s development and financial sustainability. The Liberated Arts Movement facilitates a variety of workshops, programs and services that benefit the community. Our 2025 programming goal is to have 10-12 creative arts and community oriented programs and launch our in-school writing program, Liberated Writers. You will also be responsible for creating clear marketing strategy and messaging for Liberated Arts and maintaining the brand consistency and updates on the Liberated Arts Movement website and social platforms.

    This role would be responsible for:

    • Developing a clear multi marketing strategy building on the established Liberated Arts Movement brand identity to foster brand awareness
    • Assisting with the strategic planning, vendor sourcing, stakeholder management in support of the Board Chair as needed
    • Developing marketing campaigns and materials in support of events and programming throughout the year
    • Managing website and social platform marketing messaging and image to maintain and elevate brand consistency
    • Sourcing and identifying potential partners, sponsors and funders to support Board Chair and overall development of Liberated Arts Movement as needed
    • Raising funds for the organization to assist with program execution and expansion as needed.
    • Acting as an Ambassador and advocate for the Liberated Arts Movement mission
    • Meeting with the Executive Director once a month to ensure monthly and quarterly vision alignment
    • Expected to attend and lead at least 2-3 Liberated Arts events for the year

    Qualifications

    • Must have at least a Bachelor's degree, Degree in Communications, Marketing/PR preferred
    • At least 2 to 3 years of demonstrated leadership/team leadership experience.
    • At least 2 to 3 years in a Communications or Marketing role
    • At least 1 year in a previous board member role or in a non profit role
    • Strong understanding of marginalized communities and their needs
    • Prior experience in Education, Creative Arts, Development or Nonprofit preferred
    • Prior experience in graphic design & website design is a plus
