Blood Donor Ambassador- Help create a positive donation experience at Red Cross blood drives

If you have a little free time and are a true "people person," the Red Cross has a great volunteer position for you.

Volunteer blood donor ambassadors ensure those blood donors have a pleasant and fulfilling experience, from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. During a blood drive, whether you’re greeting donors, answering questions, or thanking them for their donation, your courtesy and professionalism will create a favorable impression that encourages ongoing donor support.

Why Is This Position so Important?

The Red Cross collects and distributes about 40 percent of our nation’s blood supply. When you help create a fulfilling donation experience and encourage visitors to make a long-term commitment to regular donations, you improve our ability to meet this critical need.

Each volunteer shift you take is another opportunity to help save lives.

    Requirements

    • One 4-6 hour shift per month for six months
    • Professional, clear, and diplomatic communication skills
    • Comfortable approaching people you do not know
    • Ability to follow safety protocols and directions consistently and thoroughly
    • Volunteers must be 16+, handicapped accessible, flexible schedule
