Historic preservation isn’t just about preservation any more. It’s about a green approach to our built environment; well managed tourism at cultural sites; as well as saving and maintaining the world’s valuable architectural heritage.
Adventures in Preservation (AiP) is a nonprofit run by a group of passionate and dedicated volunteers. We respond to calls for assistance from communities by bringing teams to provide free hands-on labor to help save their built heritage.
We are looking for a Grant Writer who is able to inspire funders that are not traditionally involved with historic preservation. We want potential funders to see the value and be inspired by the impact our projects have on the environment, community development, sustainability, education and more.
Initiative-Driven. Provide recommendations that the AiP board may not have realized are viable options.
Understanding Of Impact. Distill into clear language the unmet need the grant will address and the unique approach that the proposed program takes to meet that need. Connect the dots between community need, grant activities and measurable outcomes that create impact.
Evocative Writing/Storytelling skills. Make donors feel the importance and urgency of the issue at hand. Craft a narrative that is both informative and emotional while telling a story.
Data-Driven. Understand the future data that will need to be produced for tracking and documentation,
