Position

The Environment Project is recruiting for part-time/volunteer staff members to serve as Event Coordinators for our coordination department. Event Coordinators will primarily be responsible for planning and executing events relevant to our mission.

Core Responsibilities

Planning and Execution: Event coordinators are expected to undergo training with MobilizeAmerica and ActionNetwork in order to better understand event planning logistics. 

Usage of Google Drive: Event coordinators will utilize Google Drive and various tools to create and draft event planning documentation and formal notices.

Collaboration: Event coordinators are responsible for working with other teams, organizations, and clubs to execute events.

Coordination Sessions & Meetings: The coordination department will meet together on a weekly basis to discuss upcoming events and engage in a group discussion. Furthermore, once a month, all staff are required to attend an hour-long general organization meeting. Attendance for both is mandatory, unless a valid excuse is provided.

Requirements

  • Positive, optimistic-minded attitude when approaching all work and organization matters.
  • Able to work well with others as a team.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner. Strong time management skills are appreciated.
  • Strong communication skills; willing to communicate frequently with other team and staff members for event planning.
  • Must be at least 14 years of age at time of application submission, and able to legally work in the United States.
  • Place of Residence within New York State is preferred, but not required. 
  • Must be passionate about current societal issues, especially climate-change, global warming, and various methods that can be deployed to make a positive impact for the world. 
  • Must be open to looking towards new friendships and networks in order to provide organizational growth.
