Content & Social Media Specialist

Essential Job Functions:

1. Assists manager in helping to coordinate/support MCB's social media channels.

2. Generates creative, compelling content through words, content, graphics, videos, infographics, and animations for multiple social media outlets that reaches multiple target audiences and conforms to brand and MCB's visual format.

3. Optimizes digital assets, such as text, graphics, or multimedia assets, for search engine optimization (SEO) or for display and usability on internet-connected devices.

4. Contributes to the development and implementation of strategic organic and/or paid social media campaigns, based on knowledge of MCB's objectives, brand strategies, market characteristics, and cost factors.

5. Works with colleagues to create content calendars and post relevant content, including strong, strategic use of compelling social messages, channel-specific storytelling and effective use of photography, video, and animations.

6. Produces sample content messaging for social media plans and/or communication flows for recruitment or fundraising, tailored to program, industry and/or audience segments.

7. Produces reports and evaluates performance of social media channels and paid social media campaigns.

8. Shoots, edits, and/or uses “grassroots” photos, videos and animations as part of organic social content as appropriate.

9. Contributes to a social media task force to brainstorm ideas and leverage content to increase visibility and engagement.

10. Works with a team of brand ambassadors and part-time workers who create content and cover events for social media.

11. Promotes and generates cross-linking between MCB's channels/posts and strategic influencers/sites to enhance the MCB’s visibility, reputation/perceived preeminence and increase engagement, followers for MCB’s social channels.

12. Monitors 3rd party sites for MCB-related mentions and respond appropriately.

13. Assists in crisis communications by disseminating accurate and timely information and monitoring social media for rumors/misinformation.

14. Conducts effective social media customer service.

15. Attends/covers strategic special events that can elevate MCB’s social media presence and/or engagement of target audiences, such as tournaments or other activities as assigned.

16. Contributes to the appropriate tracking, monitoring and evaluation of social media initiatives to demonstrate results and impact on success measures.

17. Performs other duties as assigned or required.


Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Knowledge:

1. English Language – Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

2. Marketing – General knowledge of principles and methods for describing and promoting programs and services in order to achieve desired outcomes.

3. Marketing Research & Analytics – General knowledge of principles and methods for researching and analyzing data used for describing, promoting and selling services

4. Communications and Media – General knowledge of media production, visual, verbal, and interactive communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and persuade via written, oral, and visual media.

5. Digital Media – General knowledge of digital media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and persuade via digital, web, and social media.

6. Customer and Personal Service – General knowledge of principles and processes for providing social media customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.

7. General knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and more.

8. General knowledge of trends, best practices, and technology in social media, digital engagement, and content creation and marketing

9. General knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

10. General knowledge of standard Adobe Suite.
