Grant Writer

We are seeking a grant/proposal writer who will lead the efforts to secure grant funding that supports our objectives and allows us new opportunities to develop and scale our business. In this position, you will be researching and presenting potential funding sources, identifying budget requisitions and specifications, and writing and developing grant applications/proposals. Daily activities may have you researching public and private sources for potential grants, submitting letters of inquiry, keeping track of budgeting and key dates/deadlines relevant to your efforts, coordinating with appropriate team members and providing updates.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has excellent written and oral communication skills
• Has a passion for this type of work and cause
• Has experience with federal grant writing and proposals
• Can effectively communicate findings or concerns with the team
• Can organize and maintain all work-related documentation
• Excels in a growing startup environment

Applicant Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in proposal, or professional writing is preferred
• 2 years of experience in grant writing is preferred
• Ability to work remotely up to 100% of the time and in Richmond, VA, when necessary
• Able to travel domestically up to 20% of the time
