    The division is responsible for helping the organization build sustainable, transparent, accountable, and mission-aligned financial systems that support both present operations and long-term growth.

    PromiseFinance helps answer critical organizational questions:

    Role Overview

    Mentor A Promise is seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a strategic partner to the Founder & CEO and a key member of the Executive Leadership Team.

    The CFO will oversee the organization's financial strategy, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, financial reporting, risk management, and long-term sustainability efforts.

    This leader will help build the financial foundation necessary for MAP to scale responsibly while maintaining strong stewardship, transparency, and accountability.

    The CFO will help ensure that financial decisions support:

    • Mission impact
    • Organizational sustainability
    • Strategic growth
    • Operational effectiveness
    • Responsible governance

    This is not simply an accounting role.

    This is an institution-building role.

    Core Responsibilities

    Financial Strategy & Organizational Stewardship

    Lead the development and execution of MAP's financial strategy by:

    • Aligning financial resources with organizational priorities
    • Supporting long-term sustainability planning
    • Evaluating growth opportunities and financial implications
    • Advising executive leadership on financial decisions
    • Building financial frameworks that support strategic goals

    Help ensure every financial decision advances MAP's mission and future growth.

    Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning

    Oversee:

    • Annual organizational budgeting
    • Multi-year financial forecasting
    • Departmental budget planning
    • Resource allocation strategies
    • Scenario planning and financial modeling
    • Organizational financial projections

    Support data-informed decision-making across all divisions.

    Financial Reporting & Executive Decision Support

    Provide leadership with:

    • Financial dashboards
    • Budget-to-actual reporting
    • Financial performance reviews
    • Cash flow analysis
    • Strategic financial insights
    • Executive-level financial recommendations

    Translate financial information into actionable organizational decisions.

    Revenue Sustainability & Growth

    Partner with development and advancement leadership to:

    • Align fundraising strategy with organizational goals
    • Evaluate revenue diversification opportunities
    • Support grant budgeting and financial planning
    • Strengthen financial sustainability efforts
    • Develop long-term revenue strategies

    Help create a resilient and diversified funding model.

    Risk Management, Compliance & Internal Controls

    Support the development and oversight of:

    • Financial policies and procedures
    • Internal control systems
    • Financial compliance practices
    • Risk mitigation strategies
    • Audit readiness
    • Financial governance standards

    Help protect the organization's resources and reputation.

    Board & Governance Support

    Partner with the Board of Directors and Finance Committee to:

    • Prepare financial reports
    • Support financial oversight responsibilities
    • Present financial performance updates
    • Assist with strategic planning discussions
    • Support governance and accountability practices

    Help strengthen financial transparency and stewardship.

    Organizational Growth & Strategic Investments

    Evaluate:

    • New programs and initiatives
    • Expansion opportunities
    • Technology investments
    • Strategic partnerships
    • Organizational infrastructure needs
    • Long-term capital requirements

    Help determine where MAP should invest resources to maximize mission impact.

    Cross-Divisional Financial Leadership

    First-Year Priorities

    Within the first year, the CFO will help:

    • Establish enterprise-level financial planning systems
    • Develop multi-year financial forecasts
    • Create executive financial dashboards
    • Strengthen budgeting processes
    • Review and enhance internal controls
    • Build long-term sustainability strategies
    • Support fundraising and revenue planning efforts
    • Improve financial reporting and transparency
    • Strengthen board-level financial oversight processes
