Help create a welcoming environment by being the first point of contact for Maryland New Directions. While delivering exceptional customer service, the Front Desk Volunteer greets visitors, clients and employees, answers incoming calls, and responds to inquiries by providing information and directing visitors to appropriate resources.

· Develop a working knowledge of all services provided at MND
· Basic computer and typing skills needed
· Must be customer service and detail oriented
· Must have ability to use a multi-line phone console or be trained
· Must have the ability to:
- communicate clearly
- interact with a diverse population.
- remain flexible to the needs of the staff, volunteers, and clients.
Availability
· MND is open Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
· Some regular hours will be assigned based on need and volunteer’s availability.
· Receptionist will fill in when needed

Maryland New Directions is located in Charles Village two blocks south of the Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus. Our building is on the left-hand side of N. Charles Street. Our offices are on the second floor of the Future Care Building. Enter through the lobby and take the elevator up.
Parking: Free parking available on Charles Street, 26th Street and 28th Street. Some spaces have no time limit (read signs carefully). Free two-hour parking on Maryland Avenue and most surrounding streets. Parking garage on Charles Street between 26th and 27th Streets.
