Graphic Designer

Expectations & Responsibilities

Our team at MSCC values the imagery of our brand. Internally, we use Canva.com to create a lot of our outward facing graphic material, but recognize the need to create certain items via a professional graphic designer. Here are some of our expectations:

• Translating our gibberish, and breathing life into branding and design strategies.
• Designing visual concepts using graphic design tools including design software.
• Selecting colors, fonts, photographs, layouts and other design elements to visually communicate our creative concepts.
• Collaborating with our leadership, volunteers, and other professionals to create media.
• Patience with our team, as not all of us are super tech savvy :-)

Preferred Qualifications

We hold a high standard to the visual appeal of our brand, and we welcome both experienced and entry level volunteers who are willing to learn what we like best:

• An integrity first mindset.
• Mastery of (and access to) graphic design software. 
• Solid knowledge of design and visual principles. 
• A portfolio showing creative, design and software skills.
• Ability to communicate design choices clearly.
• Can translate our nonsensical word vomit and turn it into beautiful designs. 
• Great multi-tasking skills and ability to work under (a small amount of) pressure.
• A "can do" and "roll with the punches" kind of attitude.
