Description

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at our shelter.  Our shelter is 100% volunteer and relies on volunteers to keep it running smoothly.  We currently have 3 different opportunities for volunteering:

  • Our adoption area:  Shifts are available during the morning and evening.  It can take anywhere from 3-4 hours and involves scooping, sweeping, feeding and medicating if needed.  And of course loving, petting and playing with the cats!

  • Intake area:  This is where incoming cats are kept until they see the vet and can be moved to the adoption area or cats who are sick or feral.  This involves cleaning cages and dispensing medications.  Shifts are one time per day preferably around mid-day and it can take 3-4 hours.

  • PetSmart:  We have cats up for adoption at the PetSmart store on Canal in Grandville.  We need people who can go there to clean the cages and interact with the cats.  This takes 1-2 hours and needs to be done in the morning.

We ask that volunteers commit to one shift a week, if possible, but we can be flexible on this. Training is provided and if you love cats it is a very rewarding experience!
