MORE ABOUT US: While still key to career success, higher education alone is not enough to help young people reach their full potential. At the same time that college enrollment has increased, family background continues to greatly impact whether a student completes her degree and then secures a competitive, career-accelerating job on graduation. Young people from high-income families are 8 times more likely to obtain a Bachelors’ degree than their low-income peers. That college degree, even so, does not guarantee economic freedom: recent African-American college graduates have an unemployment rate more than double their peers'. We aim to close these gaps and, in so doing, to cultivate a generation of leaders as diverse as our future demands.
