Over the last 10+ years, the HSMC has been conducting Trap/Neuter/Release. The HSMC has developed a progressive TNR program.

Funds for this program is shared with the HSMC low-cost Spay/Neuter program. The goal is the same - to make sure every cat and dog born in McCormick County is healthy, is wanted, and is safe.

Not only is the HSMC dependent on grant money and donations to fulfill TNR needs, but we need equipment and volunteers. If we have more of each of these, we can fix more community (outside) cats faster and offer them a better life. Yes, community cats are on their own yet they can still live a good life. Our Cat team helps them along the way by providing one meal per day and winter shelter if they will use it. If we see an injury, we help them by taking them to the vet for care.

By fixing as many cats as possible and then maintaining a feed station, we can keep a watch on their health, new additions to the colony for additional TNR, and general well-being. We need community volunteers to help feed the cats. Food donations are also welcome.
