Trunks & Leaves is dedicated to the conservation of Asian elephants and their habitats through research, education and advocacy. Asian elephants are endangered throughout their range, with some populations in critical status. Our work seeks to understand the biology of elephants and find better pathways to reconcile how elephants and humans can coexist more peacefully.


We are seeking volunteers to help establish our presence in the San Diego area and reach out to the philanthropic community, both in person and online. If you are keen on wildlife and natural at networking, we want you!


Prior fundraising experience is preferred but not required. Volunteers should share a passion for international wildlife conservation, willing to learn and understand the issues so that they can communicate these with potential sponsors, and able to meet in person as needed.


One or more of the following skills will be especially appreciated:

  • Savvy with social media and online platforms
  • Strong writing and verbal communication
  • Video or photography
  • Marketing/branding
