Interns with an interest in entrepreneurship and finance will gain practical work experience with our ASTCF Microfinance internship, while making a worthy contribution to developing countries. This internship is ideal for students interested in business, international development, and microcredit or professionals looking to gain international experience.

As a Microfinance intern, you can work with a variety of our projects related to Microfinance Internship in Uganda. The goal of many of these projects is to support small and local businesses (Small Medium Enterprise) and help entrepreneurs develop a sustainable future for themselves. These enterprises include craft market vendors, official tourist guides, juice pressers and fruit sellers, eco camps, horticulture initiatives, guest houses, small hotels and community associations

Microfinance interns undertake various roles during their internships. You will perform tasks such as reading though business plans, developing marketing strategies, conducting workshops, providing business guidance and support, and more. Wherever you go, you will be directly involved in the process of developing small businesses in Uganda and helping people rise above poverty.

ASTCF’s aim Microfinance Internship is to assist and support small-scale enterprises in tourism to trade fairly and pursue sustainable development, which contributes to the conservation of the physical environment and the social and economic welfare of the community in Uganda.

Our Microfinance Internship projects runs all year round so you can join at any time. You do not need any previous experience but it is important that you have a strong interest in the field. You should also be flexible, able to communicate well, and be eager to learn.

How To Apply


Complete and submit our online application form with the details of your chosen program and dates. You will then receive an email confirming that ASTCF has received your application. Within 48 hours (2 working days), you will receive an email from your ASTCF Principle Program Consultant acknowledging your application and confirming the project and dates of your volunteer program. In this email, you will receive more information about your chosen program, as well as details on how to pay the non refundable deposit on your program of US$150 which is required to validate and initiate the application process and to secure your placement. It will only take you a short time to complete this form: Online application.
