The Learners Lab Foundation is a national incubator charity. We develop products and services, and establish resource connections that help ignored, underserved and emerging markets of workers and start-up charities accomplish what they need in order to move forward. Our Charitable Workforce Training & Fiscal Sponsorship Programs, our Workforce Connections Service, and our Executive Management Fellowship Academy were each created as and to provide open, unrestricted access to the resources and opportunities that are out of reach.
The Learners Lab Foundation is poised to launch the beginning of a large portfolio of web/web portal products under different domain names, each supporting and/or driving one our programs; in some cases the website WILL be the program. Most will operate by our customer/users providing the content or resources made available on our websites to their peers.
The Learners Lab Foundation needs a Volunteer Systems/Network/Web Engineer who will initially be responsible for completing our VPS setup and routine administration/management of our Virtual and Remote Server Operations. You will be providing back-end support for a what is now a small but growing portfolio of web site/portals. The Volunteer Systems/Network/Web Engineer will also manage as needed operations of ISP based VPS and the configuration/deployment of Systems and hosting services.
Other aspects of this role include:
* managing Script configuration to automate regular and repeat tasks and the design of new architectures and systems
* helping consolidate tech docs and begin crafting Net Admin/Engineering Technical Documentation to formally establish the Foundation's Technical Resource Library
* interacting if needed with Foundation staff via text, phone, What'sApp, Skype and or Email to resolve hosting, domain, DNS or other related service issues
* assist in configuring then monitor/manager an accounting server
** 3+ years as a Systems Administrator
** Apache, DNS, hosted services, MySQL, WordPress, WHM, cPanel
** Knowledge of cPanel installation and configuration, domain forwarding and domain transfer between ISP accounts
** General background in IT with some knowledge of Data Center setup & administration
** Good knowledge of network design for running accounting and other software
** Experience with Firewalls, DNS, Load Balancing, some programming in PHP, HTML, MySQL, and some experience with and willingness to expand Cyber Security knowledge preferred
** Advanced systems troubleshooting skills, especially with DNS errors, attention to detail and problem solving skills
** Superior organizational skills, detail oriented, and operate remotely without supervision
EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING
** Degree from accredited college/university or degree in progress with at least 3 years experience
** A+ required
** Security+, Network+ planned or in progress
** VPS, Web Hosting and ISP experience
** 3+ years of Windows Server, Linux, & Apache Experience
Nice to have any or any combination of the following:
** CCNA, MCP, Certifications or ongoing studies toward cert, etc.
** CEH & Sec/Network, ITIL Completed
** Enterprise/Information Architect Certification Completed
** IA Certification Completed
** MCSE/MCSD Completed
** (ISC)2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) cert or studies

This role is open for transition to Management Level Internship that reports to the Acting Director, Network, Web, & Systems Engineering as a permanent role. Candidate must be willing to obtain MCSE/MCSD, IA, Enterprise/Information Architect Certification and Licensed Penetration Tester (LPT)//GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC).
